Raspberries are members of Rosacea family, Rubus type, which groups thorn bushes.

Color can vary from a light to deep red depending on cultivar. Raspberries can be bigger, smaller, fleshy, or firm.

Black raspberries are firmer than the red variety and contain more small hard seeds.

The raspberry is a small fruit that is rich in fiber. Fibers play many important roles in the body, particularly in intestinal health. Cultivated raspberry, improved by centuries of selection, pleases gourmets. But its cultivation as well as its harvest requires great care as this plant is fragile.

Delicate, sensual, fleshy, the raspberry is a small summer fruit that’s pretty much irresistible.

Available: July (Reds and Blacks)
September (Fall reds)
